# Daylight Snacks > Fit short daylight outings ("sun snacks") into the short days. Pick a place and a weekday schedule; the page works out sunrise and sunset for the next 16 weeks, the daylight you can actually reach around work, and the darkest week ahead. One metered run turns that into a menu of sun snacks and a punch card for the week. https://daylight-snacks.skillsafe.ai/ ## What is free (runs in the browser) - Sunrise, sunset and day length for 41 listed places or any latitude/longitude/time zone, one day per week for 16 weeks, from a standard solar-position approximation (equation of time and declination, sun centre 0.833 degrees below the horizon), good to about two minutes. Local clock times come from the browser's own time-zone data, so clock changes land in the right week. - Reachable daylight on a workday: before leaving, on the way (only if the commute is on foot or by bike), at lunch, and after getting home; on a day off: between getting up and bed. - The darkest week (fewest reachable workday minutes; ties go to the shorter day), clock-change markers, a provisional verdict and a draft punch card that spreads the weekly goal over the biggest windows. - Exports: Markdown, the card as CSV, the 16 weeks as CSV, a weekly calendar file (.ics, floating local times timed for the darkest week) and JSON. Punches are kept in the browser for the current week. ## The paid task (one run, model gpt-terra, metered per run) Input (all strings): task ("plan"), place, plan_from, schedule, goal, likes, limits, page_facts. Output (one JSON object): title, verdict (plenty | squeeze | days-off), verdict_reason, snacks [{id, name, minutes, window, how}], week [{day, snack}], backup [3 strings], darkest_week, first_step. The verdict is a fixed rule on the reachable workday minutes in the darkest week: under 20 is days-off, 20 to 59 is squeeze, 60 or more is plenty. The page re-checks every plan: the verdict rule, every snack fits its window, workdays get workday windows and days off get day-off snacks, the punch count, word limits, clock times that exist, and no weekday, season, pronoun, health claim or internal field name in the text. This is a daylight planner, not medical advice. ## Sources - Built on the SkillSafe skill @brianrwagner/plan-my-day (energy-aware, time-blocked day plans grounded in circadian rhythm research): https://skillsafe.ai/skill/@brianrwagner/plan-my-day - API tutorial: https://daylight-snacks.skillsafe.ai/api.html
